We really needed the inspiration, energy, and camaraderie from the 2022 Pennwriters Conference in Lancaster, PA. It was our second in-person event since the pandemic, but this one felt like old times. Keynote speakers were Jonathan Maberry ... ...and Jon Sprunk . We each taught two classes. Jason revived his Folk Yeah! and Rural Noir workshops. And I brought back Space Opera Is Still Queen and Pick Your Punk . Conferences The 2010 Pennwriters Conference was the first conference or convention that Jason and I have attended since 2008, and I didn't realize how much we needed to immerse ourselves in the writing world again. The hiatus was by choice because we both needed to finish our third novels. It was a good choice, a therapeutic choice, and allowed us to appreciate the creative energy that comes from a group of writers converging at a single location. Books Fantasist Enterprises has posted samples of the inside artwork for the Sails and Sorcery: Tales of Nautical Fantasy anthology. Alas, the art for my story "The Islands of Hope" isn't up, but I was able to preview the illustration and Julie Dillon captured the essence of my story perfectly. I can't wait to see the words and art together. Sails and Sorcery will be released in August 2007, but is available for preorder now.
