Children's Activities Announced!!! May 30 , 31 & June 1 , Uniontown Mall We want to invite your entire family to become part of the #PAlitFest. With the help and support of local service organizations like the Rotary, PNC’s Grow Up Great program, Albert Gallatin Amedisys Home Care and Hospice, and Waddell and Reed there will be constant activities for the entire family including: art projects, readings, face-painting, give-a-way items, and even a 20 x 30 map of the Commonwealth. The idea arose during a casual conversation between four Fayette County locals – two published authors and two television producers: Why not gather people and resources from across the state and country for a televised celebration of everything related to reading and writing?  From that chat, the Pennsylvania Literary Festival was born, and now, the building blocks are in place for a weekend-long festival, to be held at the Uniontown Mall May 30 through June 1. The Pennsylvania Literary Festival , or #PAlitFest, as it is abbreviated by its growing group of followers on the social media Website, Twitter, will be coordinated by a team that is led by Fayette Community Television representatives Matthew Dowling and Dave Slusarick and husband-and-wife authors Jason Jack and Heidi Ruby Miller, who had the initial burst of inspiration for the event. EVENTS The June 2013 Residency at Seton Hill University for their Writing Popular Fiction MFA Program always coincides with the WPF Alum-sponsored In Your Write Mind Conference . That means hundreds of writers on campus for an incredible summer event. This year was even more celebratory as we had two film crews on property. The Popular Romance Project was filming students, faculty, and alum for the documentary Love Between the Covers , and I was there with Matthew D. Dowling and the GoingLIVE TV show to do interviews.
