Book Review: The Fix Reviews SAILS AND SORCERY

Book Reviews Here's what Kimberly Lundstrom at The Fix had to say about my story "The Islands of Hope" in the Fantasist Enterprises' anthology Sails and Sorcery: Tales of Nautical Fantasy : "Miller’s prose is clear, bold, and direct. She introduces us to a realistic, interesting, sympathetic character in Julian, whose motivations are believable and clearly communicated in a tale that arcs gracefully through conflict and complications, and comes to its inevitable, but still unexpected conclusion." Thank you, Kimberly. This is the first time my story has been mentioned in one of the reviews. Thanks to Paul S. Kemp , who also received praise for his story "The Spinner" , for finding this review. PUBLICATION: Mr. Johnson's Boy by Heidi Ruby Miller in Eye Contact

PUBLICATIONS My short story "Mr. Johnson's Boy" was accepted for the Fall 2007 Issue of Eye Contact . Those of you who were in the SHUWPF critique workshop when I first brought the African-themed story to residency will remember it with the title "The Sands of Deng" . This will mark my first appearance in the literary-art magazine of Seton Hill University . Obviously, I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Mike Arnzen and Jason Schmetzer Mike Resnick , Timons Esaias , and Jason Jack Miller shared stories of travel in How Traveling and Travel Writing Affect Our Fiction . Also, hello to sister poets stillnotbored and Catherine A. Callaghan. After the poetry reading I bought Cathy's book Other Worlds: Poems on Prints by M. C. Escher .
